Three day trip to Switzerland’s Zurich and Lucerne. Unfortunately the weather was not with us, so a more creative attempt has been made with the cloudy images we returned with. As a first time visitor to Switzerland, several things will impact you when you visit the land of fine chocolate: sky-high prices, a punctual & sterile society, and a city so clean even the swans seem to have their own butler. Lucerne in particular impresses with its beautiful scenery of snow covered mountains in the distant background, while teams of pearly white swans float along the edges of the Reuss River. High-end retailers own Lucerne’s promenade, and shopping is the main past time of residents and travelers alike.
Personally, I found the prices too high for anyone unless you have currencies in Sterling pounds or Kuwaitian Dinars. Seriously… a bottle of 100ml of mineral water will set you back 5 CHF. A single Double Whopper costs 10 CHF. Thats 2.5 times more then an average European city.
Switzerland is unquestionably beautiful, for those who can afford its sights.
